Work carried out at KBF Commercials, Darlaston, West Midlands, Crypton EB30 commercial brake test machine

These images are of work carried out on a Crypton EB30 commercial brake test machine. As you can see on the first picture the drums are fluted (see pics before 1& before 2), to prepare for re-coating the existing coating needs to be removed as normal, where the filler has been removed from the ridges in the drums it has to be cleaned out and replaced. Once this has been done the drums are ready to be re-coated as normal resulting in a new set of commercial rollers ready to be used the following day. (see pics after 1 & after 2).

Work carried out at Fields Car Centre, Woking, Surey. Hoffman ATL class IV brake test machine.

A reasonably new model of the Hoffman ATL brake test machine was re-surfaced today in Woking, Surrey. A few spots had began to appear on the drums which lead to the garage owner to contact ourselves at AGR coatings to fully re-coat all four drums.

Brake tester repair blog (10 June 2016)

Saturday 9th June 2012

Work carried out in Pollock Shaws, Glasgow.

We recoated a class IV Balco 5020 brake test machine.  This particular machine has a metal mesh which is spot welded to the drum (Same as BM, Cartec, Tecalemit, and various other manufacturers).

This is intended to make the rollers last longer. In this case the drums began to deteriorate which caused the metal mesh to start peeling from the drums. Our client had tried to use a repair kit to solve the problem but this lead to uneven lumps on the rollers which caused incorrect readings.

As we explained to our client the only was to solve the problem would be to completely remove the metal mesh down the solid drum and re-coat.  This task is still completed in-situ but however it is a difficult task and specialised equipment is used.

Once completed the machine is ready to be used the next working day!

Brake Roller Tester Blog (11 May 2012)

Welcome again to our blog, where we try to give you a small insight into the fine results our brake test recoating service delivers.

Monday 16th April

A call was received to carry out work on a Class IV Hoffman Brekon 141 in Stanmoor, Middlesex. All four drums were successfully re-coated, another happy customer

Tuesday & Wednesday 17 & 18th April

The task in hand today was to re-coat two Maha Commercial brake test machines for a Commercial truck & van dealership. The first machine was at the Aylesham in Canterbury site.

After trying to patch repair the rollers which proved to be unsuccessful, the dealership decided to contact ourselves to fully re-coat the rollers.

Our professional brake test roller regritting provides a high quality finish to machines that have seen better days. The photos below demonstrate the before and after effect of our brake roller recoating.

Service that is flexible and truly delivers

The second machine was located at the dealership head office in Ashford, Kent. This depot was a 24hr service centre and to avoid disruption we were able to begin work at 5 in the morning. Again a patch repair kit was used as a temporary fix, as you can see in the photos the drums had worn significantly over the years and therefor had to be totally re-coated to ensure the machine was showing correct readings.

Enjoy your weekend!

Brake Test Blog (11th April 2016)

Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of our blog. The purpose of the blog is to keep you up to date with the work we do and give key examples of our excellent brake test machine repair service.

AGR Coatings received a call from company who were having problems with their commercial Crypton brake test machine. Over the years of use the drums had begun to lose grip resulting in incorrect readings. On closer inspection the rollers had worn down to the metal mesh.

AGR are flexible with our appointments and can be arranged even over weekend and we travel nationwide across the United Kingdom. We arranged a convenient date with the client to travel to Newark to re-coat and re-grit the Crypton commercial brake test machine. The new improved coating supplied by ourselves will no doubt provide correct results for future testing.

Thank you for reading and please see four photos below from the recent project.

This is the display unit for the Crypton Commercial Brake Test Machine.

This is a photo of the Crypton brake test machine before the work was undertaken. You can see how worn and therefore unreliable the machine is.
